2008 Childbirth Preparation Classes

Lamaze
Class is offered as a one-day Lamaze series. Offers instructions on the stages of labor, breathing and relaxation techniques, massage, hydrotherapy, comfort measures, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, breast and bottle feeding, newborn infant care, and more. Tools and techniques needed during labor are discussed. Expectant mothers gain insight as to what is changing with their body and their baby.

Knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of birth and labor will help you meet the challenges to make decisions regarding your birth experience. Special attention is given to a variety of coping techniques.

Never fear, our experts are here providing: A Breastfeeding Support Group that meets regularly, a breast pump program to make it easy for mom to buy or rent a breast pump and a certified lactation consultant to pull it all together.

Private Lactation Consultation
available at Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Women's Pavilion - A certified lactation consultant/certified childbirth educator will work with new moms on any breastfeeding concerns they may have after discharge.
