More than 65 nurses were nominated for this prestigious honor, including nine other nurses from Hudson Valley Hospital Center. Bindu attributes her success to teamwork at the Hospital.

Who We Are

A 128- bed acute care Hospital, Hudson Valley Hospital Center is strategically located one hour north of New York City on the shore of the Hudson River. The Hospital was founded in 1889 and in the last decade doubled its size to keep pace with a population boom in the area. In 2010, the Hospital completed a $100 million renovation including a new lobby, expanded emergency room, new all-private room patient tower. In the fall of 2011, the Hospital will open a Cancer Center and Medical Office Building.

Emergency Department

Our Emergency Department received New York State designation as a Stroke Center in 2005. A leader in patient throughput, the emergency room team revolutionized the patient experience by eliminating the waiting room and was the first to introduce a “NO-WAIT ER” in the area. High patient satisfaction scores attest to the success of this bold re-engineering effort.

Maternity Services & NICU

The Women’s Pavilion houses a 5-star maternity suite with luxury amenities, whirlpool tubs in each labor/delivery room and an adjacent operating room for C-sections. The nursery is credentialed as a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Neonatology coverage is provided around the clock.

The OR of the Future

The recent addition of two new large operating rooms has expanded the surgery schedule for physicians and provided efficiencies brought by new design and space for the latest equipment. Our new Minimally Invasive Surgery Center offers patients less invasive procedures such as single incision hernia and gallbladder, sinuplastly and reflux surgeries. The new OR balances aesthetics for a healing environment with the demands of new clinical practices.

Critical Care

Four new patient rooms were added to our ultra-modern Progressive Care Unit adjacent to the Intensive Care Unit. Designed with the most advanced equipment, the centrally located nursing hubs provide quick access to each patient room and provide a bright, cheerful environment to render critical care.

Hudson Valley Hospital Center is the first hospital in a seven-county region to attain the highly coveted Magnet™ designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet™ designation is granted only to hospitals that undergo a rigorous, voluntary evaluation that must have the support of executive leadership.
