Support Connection Support Group

Third Monday of the Month 7 p.m.

Women with Breast Cancer are invited to attend a monthly support group at the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center. Run by Support Connection, the group's meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of the month. Lymphedema Support Group

HVHC offers a support group for people with Lymphedema, a condition of localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system. The Hospital’s licensed clinical social worker and a Lymphedema therapist will provide men and women who are struggling with Lymphedema due to cancer surgery with emotional and educational support.

The group is led by Jen Looby, MS, PT, CLT, Physical Therapist/Senior Certified Lymphedema Therapist at Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Center for Rehabilitation and Miranda Dold, LCSW, Director of Community Programs at Gilda’s Club Westchester.

Support group sessions will be held every other fourth Tuesday of the month from 12:30 - 2 p.m. (April 29, June 24, August 26, October 28, December 30) and every other third Wednesday of the month from 3:30-5 p.m. – ( May 21, July 16, September 17, November 19).

Gilda's Club Westchester at HVHC offers a support group for people who have been recently diagnosed with cancer on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Cheryl R. Neal Castaldo - Radiation Oncology Patient at the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center

When Neal Castaldo was turning 63, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was scared and confused. But from the day he entered the new Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center his fears were soothed. April and Brandon Thompson - A special birth of twins

April Thompson had her twins at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and was able to achieve the natural childbirth she wanted despite the fact that one of the babies had turned breech. Her 8-year-old daughter, Taylor was also able to participate in the delivery thanks to a special sibling class at HVHC.

The Infusion Center in the Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center provides  chemotherapy, blood transfusions, intravenous antibiotics and other infusions.  These services are provided in a spacious, 18-bed infusion suite with natural light, private television and access to the internet.  The physical layout supports complete privacy as well as a feeling of community.  Nursing staff are highly experienced and many are certified in their specialty.  Our Medical Director is on-site during hours of operation.  The Center hours are: Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm .  We will also coordinate your care over the weekend if necessary.
