The Hudson Valley Hospital Center is committed to providing quality health care in a caring environment that is honest, respectful and dedicated to integrity. In order to maintain this commitment, we shall conduct our operations in full compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations and hold ourselves up to the highest ethical and business standards.
This Code of Conduct, which was approved and adopted by our Board of Directors, is a central component of our Compliance Program. It delineates the expectations we strive to meet in a constantly changing health care regulatory landscape and applies to all of our interactions, transactions and relationships.
Kindly review this Code carefully so that you know it well and understand what is expected of the organization and what is expected of you as you perform your duties and responsibilities on behalf of the organization. Everyone is accountable for promoting an ethical environment.
Do keep in mind that the Code is a guide and not a substitute for either the more detailed Hospital policies and procedures or the Hospital’s Compliance Plan.

Hudson Valley Hospital Center has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines ®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.

This prestigious award is the highest level awarded. To receive this designation, HVHC achieved 85 percent or higher compliance for all seven Achievement indicators and an additional 75 percent or higher compliance with five or more Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Quality measures within one or more consecutive 12-month intervals.

This award validates that stroke patients receive excellent, quality care. The interventions that are measured are best practices in the care of stroke patients to help reduce death and disability. These measures include aggressive use of medications, such as tPA, antithrombotics, anticoagulation therapy, DVT prophylaxis, cholesterol-reducing drugs, education, rehabilitation and smoking cessation

Hospitals receiving the Silver, Gold, Silver Plus and Gold Plus awards are honored at national recognition events during the International Stroke Conference and listed by name in advertisements that appear annually in Stroke and in the “Best Hospitals” issue of U.S. News & World Report.

  

Symptoms of stroke may be sudden and include:

•Weakness or numbness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body

•Confusion or difficulty speaking or understanding

•Problems with vision such as dimness or loss of vision in one or both eyes

•Dizziness or problems with balance or coordination

•If you experience any of these symptoms call 911 immediately

•Treatment is most effective when started immediately

Grow event

Elmsford, NY - (April 2, 2012)- Hudson Valley Hospital Center was chosen by the Westchester County Office of Economic Development to appear in its new campaign to highlight successful businesses in Westchester County.

"Grow," a campaign featuring small to mid-size business success stories in Westchester, includes print and radio ads, inserts in local lifestyle publications and social media outreach. The goal is to get businesses already located in Westchester to expand with the help of county economic development officials.

"We are proud to be held up as an example of home grown success,'' said Hudson Valley Hospital Center President John C. Federspiel. "With the support of our community, Hudson Valley Hospital Center has grown into a medical center for the Hudson Valley. With our $100 million expansion and the opening of our new Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Hospital can better serve our community by providing quality medical care close to home.''

The Hospital joined other featured businesses on April 2 at the campaign kick-off at the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford, NY.

Hudson Valley Hospital Center was recognized by the Westchester County Association in October of 2010 with APEX award for Economic Development Leadership for its $100 million expansion - the largest economic development project of the year.
