Putnam Valley Couple Have Hudson Valley Hospital Center's First Baby of 2011

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (January 3, 2011) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center welcomes its first baby of 2011. Allison Marfeo and Kevin Martin hold their new baby boy Gavin Vaugh Martin. Gavin was born at the Women's Pavilion at HVHC on January 1, 2011 at 1:20 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs and was 20 inches long. Marfeo and Martin live in Putnam Valley.
The Women's Pavilion for Birthing offers families a safe alternative to home delivery.
Five private labor and delivery rooms, each with its own private whirlpool tub, offer a cheerful and home-like environment. Delivery options include having family members present at the birth and the use of midwives and doulas.
Dads are welcome to stay overnight, and rooming-in with baby is mom and dad’s choice. HVHC also has a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), Level 2 nursery that can care for premature or seriously ill babies should complications arise. About 1,000 babies are delivered each year at HVHC.
