Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Active Aging Week Offers Free Health Education for Seniors
Week-long programs are free and open to the public
Cortlandt Manor, NY - (August 30, 2010) - From Cardio-Bingo to more serious subjects such as caring for a loved one with a chronic illness, Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Active Aging Week from September 20-24 will offer free health education programs to seniors.
"People are living longer and as a consequence need information to better manage their health and their lives," said Hudson Valley Hospital Center President John C. Federspiel. "Hudson Valley Hospital Center is committed to meeting the needs of our residents, and this is just one of the ways we do that - by presenting free, informative health education programs to all segments of our community."
This is the second year of the week-long health education series. Held at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and at the Hospital's Wellness Club at the Cortlandt Town Center, the week features programs such as classes in balance and flexibility and in core strength exercise, as well as, roundtable discussions on diabetes and meal planning, successful weight loss and balance and dizziness issues and caregiving.
And who can resist getting free medical advice? Doctors from the Westchester Medical Practice will be there to give free health screenings and provide information on nutrition, wound care, heart health physical and occupational therapy and more.
