Hudson Valley Hospital Center Gives 1,100 Pies to Employees as Part of Thanksgiving Tradition

Cortlandt Manor, NY – November 23, 2011 – Apple outpaced Pumpkin again this year at Hudson Valley Hospital Center where 1,100 Hospital employees received free pumpkin or apple pies the day before Thanksgiving.
Continuing a 16-year tradition, the Hospital’s administration personally handed out the pies to staff during an open house from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Wagner Conference Room.
The pies, baked by Homestyle Bakery in Peekskill, were stacked high in the conference room and employees stopped in to pick up their pies, have a cup of coffee and chat with administration throughout the day.
“It’s a great tradition,’’ said Federspiel. “People bring their children and other family members in and drop by to say hello. It’s a good way to start the holidays.’’
