Local Meteorologist Jim Witt Visits HVHC

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (January 4, 2012) – Long-time meteorologist and well-respected member of the community, Jim Witt, visited Hudson Valley Hospital Center (HVHC) patients and employees during the holiday season, treating them to a signed copy of his 2012 Long-Range Weather Calendar.
Witt, who started his career in meteorology as an earth science teacher at Lakeland High School, brought with him 200 signed calendars, spending the morning personally handing out each one, while talking about his love for meteorology. Since its conception, the calendar has evolved into an annual fundraiser benefiting the Hope for Youth Foundation, helping children who are seriously or terminally ill or who are physically or mentally challenged.
“It was a great way to bring in the New Year,” said William Dauster, Vice President of Marketing and Development at HVHC. “The patients and employees enjoyed learning about the history of the calendar while preparing for the weather changes ahead.”
For more information on the sale of calendars, please contact the Marketing Department at 914-734-3557 or visit www.hvhc.org.
