Cortlandt Manor, NY - (March 6, 2012) – Getting a good night’s sleep is key to good health. But for people with sleep disorders like sleep apnea, getting the rest they need is often a challenge.

“Sleep testing is indicated for a myriad of problems such as sleep apnea, sleep walking, night-time seizures, insomnia, restlessness at night, and other sleep disorders,” says Debbie Neuendorf, Vice President of Administration at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. “Often times, people with sleep disturbances may be exhausted during the daytime and fall asleep at inappropriate times during the day because they are not well rested. Sleep disorders also may contribute to the onset of hypertension and obesity.’’

As part of its continued quest to better serve the community, Hudson Valley is proud to announce the opening of the Center for Sleep Medicine at HVHC on March 19. The center provides professional consultation, diagnostic and treatment services for all types of sleep disorders, and is conveniently located on the Hospital campus at 1980 Crompond Road in Cortlandt Manor.  The center is under the medical direction of Charles Abate, MD, FCCP.
