Hudson Valley Hospital Center Hosts Free Fall Digestive Health Series

Cortlandt Manor – (Sept. 16, 2011) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center will hold a series of lectures this fall to educate the public on the importance of proper screening for digestive disorders.

Drs. Klaus Thaler, Director of Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s new Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, and Eric S. Teitel, a gastroenterologist and chairman of the Department of Medicine at HVHC, will present the following series of three lectures at the Hospital:

 - Saturday, September 24 10 a.m. - New Diagnostic Tools for Acid Reflux. Learn how new diagnostic tools help doctors more accurately diagnose Acid Reflux, helping them to choose the best non-surgical or surgical treatments. Wagner Conference Room

 - Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m. - Diverticulitis and Colon Health. Learn about the symptoms and treatments of diverticulitis and good practices for colon health including regular screenings. Wagner Conference Room

- Saturday, November 19, 10 a.m.Reflux and Preventing Esophageal CancerAcid Reflux in some patients can develop into Barrett’s Esophagus, a change in the cell structure of the esophagus walls, which in some cases can lead to esophageal cancer, the fastest growing cancer in the U.S. Find out why monitoring your reflux can save your life.
