On average, a cancer patient makes more than 100 individual trips to obtain care during their first year of diagnosis and treatment. Cancer patients in the HVHC Center’s service area have had to drive at least 30 minutes or more to access care. The Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center offers care close to home, reducing stress on patients and their families, and provides all services under one roof.

The Cancer Center houses The Ashikari Breast Center and Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, offering world-renowned physicians in breast surgery and reconstruction and leading technology in women’s imaging.  Services include radiation and infusion therapy as well as support programs. The Center is the only facility in the region to offer tomotherapy, a state-of-the-art radiation therapy that precisely pinpoints cancerous cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. The Center’s design, with adjoining conference and office space, encourages communication and clinical consultations between physicians, technologists and clinical staff.
