Hudson Valley Hospital Center Auxiliary Names Carol Kane as Outstanding Auxilian

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (Sept. 21, 2011) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Auxiliary today installed a new slate of directors and honored a long-time, dedicated member at its annual luncheon.

At its “Autumn in New York” luncheon meeting at Cortlandt Colonial Restaurant in Cortlandt Manor, HVHC Auxiliary President Sheila Guida presented Carol Kane of Putnam Valley with the Outstanding Auxilian Award. Kane is a long-time member who has dedicated many years of service to the Auxiliary and to Hudson Valley Hospital Center. She is married to HVHC Board Member Jim Kane and was an honoree at the Hospital’s 2007 Ball.  Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi also presented Kane with a proclamation from the town recognizing her service to the community.

John C. Federspiel, President of Hudson Valley Hospital Center, thanked the volunteers for their service and congratulated them on the outstanding work they have done to support the Hospital.

“Hudson Valley Hospital Center would not be the institution it is without the dedicated service of the auxiliary. We thank you for all your support.’’

Also speaking at today’s event, was Roy Ashikari, MD, FACS, founding member of the Ashikari Breast Center now at Hudson Valley Hospital Center.  

Installed as officer for 2011-12 were: Jeannette Altamure; Joy Chiulli; Frances Dawson; Elaine Goetchius; Marie Lewis and Natalie Matthews.

HVHC’s Auxiliary was founded in 1960 and continues to grow with more than 275 members.
