Volunteering at the hospital

The Hospital Auxiliary and service Volunteers are a vital part of the Hospital family. Their community spirit and quality service augment many of the Hospital's programs. Volunteers are here to do everything possible to make your stay comfortable. Staffing the reception desk, sorting patient mail and providing reading material for patients are just a few of the services provided.

Volunteer Patient Representatives

These volunteers make a personal visit to each patient, acting as a liaison with the various Hospital departments.

Volunteer Chaplains

Our Pastoral Care Program is comprised of Volunteer Chaplains who visit patients and their families on a daily basis. They undergo an intensive training program to meet their spiritual and emotional needs. The Chaplains make rounds on the nursing units including the emergency department. For further information on joining the pastoral care program, please call the Chaplains Office at 734-3330.

Runner for Dispatch Services

These volunteers assist Hospital staff in picking up and delivering pharmaceuticals, medical forms and specimens throughout the Hospital.

Share Your Skills

When you are feeling better, we would like to invite you to share your time and skills with us. NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital volunteers, men and women of all ages, perform a variety of roles relating both directly and indirectly to patients. Our Auxiliary offers you another opportunity to help. It sponsors social and cultural programs for the enjoyment of its members, as well as participating in a variety of fundraising services for the Hospital. If you would like to learn more about becoming a volunteer, please call the Volunteer Office at (914) 734-3244.
