Full Body Scan

The full body scan is the most advanced and comprehensive health screening available today giving us the unique ability to detect over 100 potentially life-threatening diseases. The full body scan includes imaging of the heart and lung, areas between the neck and pelvis, and all major organs and tissues providing information about heart disease, cancer, aneurysms, and lymphoma as well as conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis and gallstones.

FACT Hudson Valley Hospital Center is the FIRST Hospital in northern Westchester and Putnam County to have available this state-of-the-art technology. The radiologists at Hudson Valley Hospital Center perform full body CAT Scan screening on our Light Speed 16-slice CAT Scan machine. Your physician will be provided with both two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) images.

FACT Heart and lung disease are responsible for more than half of the deaths in the USA. Figures from The National Cancer Institute estimate that 3% to 35% of cancer related deaths could be prevented with the use of full body CAT Scan screening. As always, the best prevention is early detection.

FACT Full body CAT Scan screening is a painless non-invasive procedure. Low dose radiation is used to screen the entire body from the brain down to the pelvic area for a variety of diseases of the vital organs. Full body CAT Scan screening detects heart, lung, endocrine, musculoskeletal, prostate, as well as ovarian tumors and disease. In addition, aneurysms, osteoporosis, hernias, kidney and gallstones are also well visualized with the use of full body CAT Scan screening. Therefore as a result, various cancers and diseases can now be detected with accuracy before the patient exhibits any symptoms.

Preparation

The screening takes only a few minutes and no preparation is necessary.

Cost

The full body screening includes: head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. HVHC accepts cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. Payment is required at the time of your exam. A prescription from your doctor is needed for the screening. At this time, insurance plans do not cover this screening exam.
