PET/CT Infusion Scan
(Positron Emission Tomography)
With our new state-of-the-art mobile PET/CT, patients have access to a powerful diagnostic imaging tool.
PET (Positron Emission Tomography) with CT infusion is now available at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. This highly sophisticated diagnostic tool is used to detect lymphoma, melanoma, lung cancer, and head and neck tumors. PET scan studies may also be used to evaluate liver conditions in cases of colo-rectal cancer. In neurology, the test can detect various brain disorders.
"Previously, a patient would have to travel to Manhattan for this kind of testing", states Deborah Neuendorf, Vice President of Administration at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. "This technology, formerly exclusive to large research institutions, is now offered to provide the best possible healthcare for patients in the region," Ms. Neuendorf further states. PET scanning is a safe, noninvasive diagnostic procedure that is comfortable for the patient and allows a whole-body examination in a single procedure requiring only one hour.
