They may not have had the swiftest time, but they certainly had the spirit. Hudson Valley Hospital Center competed in the Dragon Boat races on Saturday, August 6 as part of the 2011 Peekskill Celebration.

Despite a spotty practice record, HVHC managed to bring home a medal for third place in the Breast Cancer Survivors race that ended the morning of heats. Sixteen teams, including HVHC, competed in this year’s free for all.

Hudson Valley Hospital Center was proud to be a major sponsor of this year’s Peekskill Celebration. In addition to competing in the dragon boat races, HVHC and Westchester Medical Practice staff members were on hand at the vendor table to answer questions about hospital services including HVHC’s new Cancer Center set to open in the fall.

Competing for HVHC in Saturday’s race were: Allyson Curtis; William Dauster; Natalie Dauster;  Victoria Hochman, Luz F. Corona, William Higgins, Liam Higgins, Ed Coletti; Janet Foucher; Joann Boniello; Joann Messenger ; Myrna Bacdayan; Steven Bacdayan; Rosemarie Santiago; Tama Goodstein; Tara Popa-Trotter and Zsuzsa Glasscock.
