Valley Musica to Host Benefit Concert for Hudson Valley Hospital Center

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (January 9, 2012) – From Lincoln Center to the local community, Valley Musica, a non-profit group that brings world-class classical music concerts to Hudson Valley communities, will host a concert to benefit the Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

The performance on January 29 at 2 p.m. at the Putnam Valley High School Performing Arts Center will feature works by Haydn, Brahms and Dvorák.  Tickets are $20 per person with proceeds supporting Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s $5 million capital campaign for the new Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center, which opened its doors in November of 2011.

“We feel honored to support the Cancer Center at Hudson Valley Hospital and to share our musical talents with the community,” said Audrey Axinn, Founder and Director of Valley Musica. “Cancer has touched my life—who amongst us can say otherwise? Music can be a powerful and healing force for people confronting illness as well as for their families and friends.”

“It is wonderful to have the support of organizations like Valley Musica,” said HVHC President, John Federspiel. “By donating their time and talents, they allow us to connect with the public and educate them about the services we offer while helping us to raise the funds we need to better care for our community.”

The concert will feature musicians who have taken the stage at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, The Lincoln Center and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
