Hudson Valley Hospital VP Nominated for Women of Excellence Award

Cortlandt Manor, NY - (February 8, 2012) – Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Vice President of Patient Services was among 18 women honored by the Professional Women of Putnam and Mahopac News on Feb. 3.

Kathy Webster, who has been with Hudson Valley Hospital Center for 35 years, was among the women nominated for a “Putnam County Women of Excellence” award. She and 17 other nominees were feted by the organization and the newspaper at a dinner at the Putnam National Golf Club on Feb. 3.

“It was a really lovely event, and a great honor,’’ said Webster, who was nominated for the Women in Leadership Award in the non-profit sector. The award was given to Amy Sayegh, founder and Director of Community Cares in Mahopac.

Webster, a Mahopac resident, has been behind many positive changes at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. In May, Webster was honored for 35 years of service with the hospital. The recipient of the coveted NY Times “Tribute to Nursing Award” in 2007, Kathy is credited with spearheading the Magnet accreditation of HVHC – the only hospital with Magnet accreditation in the eight counties from New York City to Albany. She is also the driving force behind the creation of the hospital’s new Comprehensive Cancer Center, which opened on November 17, 2011.
