Colorectal Cancer: Prevention and Early Detection

Dr. Herman B. Kleinbaum will speak on prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer as part of HVHC's Digestive Health Series "Your Gut and You."

Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year, about 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and more than 50,000 people die from it. If everyone 50 and older received regular screenings, as many as 60 percent of deaths from this cancer could be avoided, according to the CDC.
